Hope Children's Fund Vice President Laura Spillane Speaks to Membership

Laura Spillane spoke passionately about the Hope Children's Fund. The Fund provides for the physical and emotional needs of some of the most vulnerable AIDS affected orphans who were living on the streets of Meru, Kenya. HCF's goal is to furnish the food, clothing, shelter and medical care that will enable these children to be enrolled in local schools. At the Jerusha Mwiraria Hope Children’s Fund Home these children receive the tools that will help them to become productive adults. Laura Spillane, wearing a scarf made in Kenya, which she described as feeling like a "hug" whenever she wears it, visited the orphanage on a 17-day trip to Kenya. She described how the orphanage functioned, how they grow their own food, and the need for individuals to sponsor a child for $1 a day.
